The new DCM or Direct Current Millennium Series starts out with two models: the DCM2000, with 2000 watts into four ohms, and the DCM1500 with 1500 watts. Carvin has opted to use custom-made toroidal transformers for reduced weight, better efficiency and less hum and noise. Both versions are housed in three-space rack mountable steel chassis' with highly modular circuit boards using Mil-Spec manufacturing techniques and materials for increased reliability.

These stereo amps have both XLR and 1/4 inch phone jack input connections while the output connections have both binding posts and Speakon™ connectors. There is a multi-speed fan and a precision heat sink assembly for quiet and cool operation. Also included is a special "Opto-isolator" speaker protection circuitry to prevent loudspeaker damage from distortion peaks.
