C.F. Martin will be hand crafting a numbered series of special 000-28EC Eric Clapton Signature model acoustic guitars.

The smaller "000" body size with a short 24.9 inch scale length has become popular with finger style and blue guitars who want a delicate and balanced tone. The 28EC draws on the 1995 Limited Edition 000-42EC Eric Clapton signature guitar which only 461 were made. (in memory of the 461 Ocean Blvd. Album?) The 28EC is similar to the 42EC in size, shape and woods but the appointments are different.

The sides and back are made from premium grade solid East Indian rosewood and the top is book matched from Sitka spruce. The rosette and the perimeter of the sound board are inlaid with patterned herringbone wood marquetry and the body is bound with grained ivoriod. The ebony fingerboard features pre-war Style 28 snowflake pattern in abalone pearl. Eric's signature is inlaided in mother-of-pearl between the 19th and 20th frets. Each 000-28EC will bear an interior label, individually numbered in sequence.
