The DN-C550R dual-drive combination CD player/CD-R/CD-RW recorder answers the call of the increased popularity of copying and recording compact discs. About as 'no-brainer' as you can get, the DN-C550R is a standalone two-space rack-mount unit, with pro features such as balanced XLR inputs and coaxial S/PDIF digital inputs with SCMS defeat.
Drive 1 is used as a dedicated playback only deck, accepting both pro and consumer CDs, CDRs, and CD-RWs, as well as HDCD encoded discs. Drive 2 functions as either a CD-R/CD-RW recorder, or as a second playback deck. Both drives of the DN-C550R are PC/data disc compatible and the analog XLR inputs feature full 24-bit A/D conversion. Digital coaxial or optical inputs are included, and the internal digital sampling frequency converter will convert incoming 32kHz and 48kHz rates to CD standard, 44.1kHz. CD copying can be done in either real-time or at 2X speeds and a synchronized recording function can be used to begin recording as soon as audio is present at the recorder's input.
