C.F. Martin calls this guitar the Steve Howe Signature Edition in appreciation of Howe's loyalty to Martin. Easy to be loyal when you pick up and play the new 00-18SH and discover it's made from Engelmann spruce with top bracing and delicate hand scalloping for optimal tonal balance. The back, sides and neck are made out of mahogany and the fingerboard is ebony inlaid with 18 vintage style abalone position dots. The body is trimmed with tortoise colored bindings and inlaid with the traditional Style 18 black/white/black/white/black.
Back at the ebony bridge there is a "through" saddle of genuine bone and Steve Howe's signature is inlaid between the 18th and 19th frets. The old style squared headstock has a bone nut while the tuners are nickel-plated replicas of the original Kluson "oil holes".
