The Roland Fantom is a 76-note synthesizer with a simple interface and sequencer coupled to a variable arpeggiator and rhythm generator. Using an expanded XV-5080 sound engine with 64 voices and 16-part multitimbrality, there are 1,024 patches made up of 640 presets, 128 user-locations and 256 GM2 sounds. For live performance excitement, there are 29 rhythm sets available with realtime control by way of: knobs, buttons and the light-sensing D-Beam controller.
You get a large, LCD display with soft keys for faster, more intuitive operation, onboard 24-bit reverb and chorus as well as 90 multi-effects including COSM Amp Modeling. Future expansion is possible by adding any combination of two SRX and one SR-JV80-Series Wave Expansion Boards. With all 24-bit sounds and S/PDIF digital outputs, the Fantom comes in a titanium chassis with low-profile floppy drive for storing user data.
