Tech 21's Double Drive distortion pedal has a choice of two different types of distortion each based on the power output stage of tube amplifiers. Drive A yields a Class A distortion, mostly even harmonics while Drive A/B provides Class A/B distortion, rich in odd harmonics. Either Drive distortion can be used individually or together in cascade (series). With both Drive A and A/B controls set to minimum, you'll get a clean boost up to 10dB. A unique Tone control shifts the center frequency of the high-cut equalizer from 10kHz to 1kHz and the unit has an ultra high impedance input (1 megohm) that won't load your guitar's pickups. Other good things are: 1/4 inch jacks, 1kOhm output impedance for driving long lines without loss and a smooth, silent-switching custom actuator.
