WD Music Products' Deep 6 Baritone Guitar
by Barry Rudolph |
With the current craze of sub-tuning electric guitars for a thicker, heavier sound it seems that the baritone guitar will become more popular. The baritone is (normally) tuned from A to A with the lowest string tuned to A an octave down from the A string on a regular six-string guitar. All chord shapes and relationships stay the same as well as the general size and heft of the instrument.
WD Products makes the Deep 6 instrument in two body shapes from either two-pieces of alder or swamp ash. All instruments are hand-made to order in WD's custom shop with necks designed by Joe Veillette in either rosewood or maple, 24 jumbo frets and a double expanding trussrod. Kent Armstrong makes the pickups with a Cool Rail model at the neck and a high output Rail piece with coil splitter at the bridge. In a choice of 40 colors and baritone strings by Labella, prices and much more information can be obtained from WD Music Products at 941-337-7575.
