The Kaoss Pad Dynamic Controller is a performance oriented real-time effects controller. There are 60 effects such as: delay, reverb, panning, flanger, phasers, filters and pitch shifters available. These effects can be applied to any audio source including records, samplers, or keyboards. The pad is setup in an X-Y coordinate system whereby you press your finger (or any other body parts) on a pressure sensitive surface and move in vertical or horizontal directions. You could control both delay time, feedback amount and the cutoff and resonance of a filter at the same time.

Furthermore, the Kaoss Pad can be tapped or scratched to control effects. Effect programs are selected by way of a knob and you can assign any of six "soft" buttons for immediate custom recall. There is also a "hold" button for freezing an effect setting at the current X-Y position.
