No stranger to Martin guitars, Mayer's Martin collection includes an OM-42, 000-28EC, HD-35 and OM-28V. The OM-28 John Mayer Signature Model is now his main choice and based on a classic design with a 25.4-inch scale, 000 body size and 1/4-inch scalloped bracing for a powerful, balanced tone.

The OM-28 is a mix of the whimsical and the practical. There is a polished Indian rosewood headplate and the African black ebony belly bridge features fine line border inlays of aluminum and matches the black ebony fingerboard. The headplate showcases the classic "C.F. Martin & Co. Est. 1833" decal logo in silver while the bridge is outfitted with white pins and abalone dots. MayerÕs signature is inlaid at the 20th fret in mother-of-pearl.

The OM-28 John Mayer Signature Model is handcrafted entirely from solid premium tone woods: a top of Engelmann spruce matched to back and sides of Indian rosewood. The genuine mahogany neck is 1 11/16-inch wide at the nut with a low profile shape and satin finish. The bone nut and compensated bone saddle provide superb string-to-string separation and this signature model comes equipped with Fishman/Martin Gold+Plus Natural electronics. Finally, there is a traditional tortoise-color polished and beveled OM pickguard that compliments a body finished with traditional polished gloss nitrocellulose lacquer.
