Martin Nakashima Commemorative Guitar

The C.F. Martin George Nakashima Claro Walnut Commemorative Edition guitar is a tribute to the artistry of woodworker Nakashima who used to hired Martin's precision bandsaw mill to cut his rare oversize walnut logs. The sides and back of the guitar are made from highly figured claro walnut and joined together by Nakashima's trademark dovetailed rosewood "butterflies." The soundboard is bookmatched Italian alpine spruce with a abalone pearl rosette. A light aging toner is used on the top and a satin lacquer applied over all.
The Nakashima family crest is inlaid beneath the Martin script logo...both mother of pearl. This crest is repeated up and down the fingerboard with the artist's signature between the 19th and 20th frets. Both the fingerboard and bridge are crafted from black ebony and the tuning machines are vintage style Waverlies with nickel-plated butterbean knobs.
Since only 100 of these guitars will be made, each interior label is numbered and signed by Mira Nakashima and C.F. Martin IV.
