The new PLX 3402 is the newest and biggest amp in the PLX Series. The two-rackspace, 21 pound 3402 outputs 1700 watts per channel into two ohm loads while the four initial models, the PLX 1202, 1602, 2402 and 3002, have power ratings ranging from 600 watts to 1,500 watts/ch into two ohms.
The entire PLX Series feature QSC's PowerWave switching power supplies that make the amplifiers run cooler, weigh less and more agile in handling instantaneous power demands.
Hum and noise levels measure -110dB from 20Hz to 20kHz while THD at rated power into eight ohms is .03%. There are user selectable low frequency filters that increase available power and protect your speakers from subsonic damage.
Built-in clip limiters also protect the amp and your speakers by limiting based on a measured response to program material content. Other features are: metal XLR and 1/4 inch balanced inputs; Neutrik Speakon and five-way binding posts; LED indicators that show true clip, protect, bridged mono and parallel input mode status.
The PLX 3402 sells for $2,098 retail and for more information you can contact QSC Audio Products, Inc., 1675 MacArthur Blvd., Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Phone them at: 714-754-6175 or FAX at: 714-754-6174. E-mail at: info@qscaudio.com or WEB to: www.qscaudio.com
