The EQP-200B is the new dual channel equalizer that replaces the venerable EQP-200A unit. The 200B offers a new low frequency six dB per octave shelving filter starting at 50Hz. This new function is selectable with the "bypass/in/LF shelf" toggle switch. The existing low frequency choices of 20, 30, 60, and 100Hz are augmented with the addition of 180Hz. There are also separate boost (+16dB) and cut (-20dB) controls and the high frequency boost section is upgraded with the addition of 1.5kHz to the already 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, and 16kHz choices. There is a variable bandwidth or "Q" (quality) control that sets the contour of the equalizer.
The 200B equalizer is a passive equalizer where the throughput gain loss is made up with a tube amplifier. The input is electronically balanced (so no transformers) and uses a XLR connector. The output is also electronically balanced by way of discrete 990 operational amplifier (also alleviating the need of a transformer). Total harmonic distortion is rated at 0.05%, a noise floor measurement of better than -95dB and a dynamic range specified as 105dB.
