Tech 21, makers of the Sans-Amp, have a new guitar pedal called CompTortion. This pedal combines a compressor with distortion and offers better control of the two effects by using separate controls. Operation is simple: just crank the Comp knob or the Tortion knob for more of either effect. You can also fine tune with the Tone control and output Level control. The unit will also provide a clean boost up to 12dB and is said not to "depersonalize" your guitar tone. The unit is powered by an internal nine volt battery or an optional external power supply.
