System One is a low-cost self-contained, moving fader automation system from Uptown Automation. This system uses the same software and design as the popular System 2000 and System 990 packages. System One can be purchased in 8, 16, 24 or 32 channel configurations. Furthermore, you can add to an existing System One for up to 64 channels of moving fader automation. A complete 24-channel system, including computer, can be had for less than $10,000.

Like all Uptown Automation systems, the System One patches directly into the insert points in your patchbay and so the system can be quickly disconnected for tracking or moved for used on another console.

System One is SMPTE/EBU time code-based with all faders and mutes continuously updated every frame (that's 30 times a second). Furthermore, the system communicates with the computer over high-speed data lines rather than MIDI, so there are no timing errors (delay) when more and more faders and mutes are used throughout a mix. There is full access to grouping, MIDI functions, tape machine control and all the popular off-line editing features.
