Veillette Guitars' MK IV-M Series

Hand-made by Joe Veillette in Woodstock, NY, the new MK IV-M Series guitars feature both Seymour Duncan pickups and piezo-electric pickups. The 12-String Standard semi-solid body uses Seymour's Cool Rails and the Alvarez System 500A piezo-electric bridge transducer with three-band active equalizer. You will get an instrument with good electric sustain and also an acoustic tone. The System 500's midrange-contour knob is replaced with a blend control for mixing between the piezo and magnetic pickups.
The guitar has a poplar body with a figured maple top and bolt-on, one-piece hard rock maple neck fitted with graphite-reinforced bars. You get either a wenge or pau ferro fingerboard, 22 frets, deluxe Gotoh tuners and red stain finish. The 12-string benefits from Veillette's experience making seven-string guitars, basses and baritone guitars all of which use higher string tensions than standard guitars. This new line uses graphite technology in the neck construction for increased stability and better intonation...especially useful when experimenting with different string gauges or tunings.
The new MK IV-M 12-string costs $2,280 including gig bag and for much more about the whole line, contact Joe Veillette at 2628 Route 212, Woodstock, NY 12498. Phone 914-679-6154. Web to: www.veillette.com
