Apollo Twin is a desktop Thunderbolt audio interface for Macs that uses the same 24/192 kHz A/D/D/A conversion as the Universal Audio Apollo rack units. The Apollo Twin includes an internal UAD processing card--either a UAD Solo or Duo.
You can have up to 6 X 2 channels of simultaneous input/output channels. Up to 8 channels of additional digital audio input is possible using the ADAT optical with S/MUX for higher sample rates or two channels S/PDIF optical with sample rate conversion.
The two, digitally controlled analog microphone pre-amps feature, high pass input filter, 48-volt phantom powering, a -20dB attenuator and polarity flip.
Apollo Twin is built in a rugged aluminum case with accessible front panel headphone and instrument connections. The Apollo Twin allows Mac users to record in real time (at near-zero latency of less than 2ms) through the UAD Powered plug-ins its included Realtime Analog Classics Plug-In bundle, including analog emulations of famed analog hardware compressors, EQs and Preamps, as well as award-winning guitar amp emulations from Softube. You also have over 90 additional plug-ins to choose from at UA's Online store, with emulations of hardware processors from Neve, Studer, Manley, Lexicon, API and more.
With Apollo Twin, UA also introduces the new Unison™ Technology (Unison Technology coming to Apollo DUO and Apollo QUAD soon). By integrating Apollo's mic preamps and its onboard UAD plug-in processing, Unison recreates the sound of the most sought after tube and solid-state mic preamps before and after Apollo's pre-amp conversion.
Available in both SOLO and DUO models, Apollo Twin is now available at $699 (SOLO) and $899 (DUO). More at: www.uaudio.com/twin.
