SMC, (that's Samick Music Corp.) announced a participation agreement with NASCAR allowing them, under their Silvertone brand, to create a variety of acoustic and electric guitars. These guitars will feature the NASCAR logo and colors as well as some of the sports most celebrated by drivers.
These are full size steel string dreadnought guitars with nato mahogany top, back and sides, a pearloid sound hole rosette and rosewood fingerboard and bridge. You also get chromed precision die-cast tuning machines and a high gloss finish.
The electric guitars have a single cutaway sculpted body with a maple bolt-on neck, rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets set in a 24 3/4" scale, chromed precision die-cast tuning machines, dual humbuckers with 3-way pickup selector switch.
Priced between $299 and $329 MSRP, these guitars are due for release during the first quarter of 2005, and will feature four of the most popular drivers on the NASCAR circuit: Bobby LaBonte, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson.
