The system starts with a wireless microphone receiver/mixer that connects to an Internet-connected Smart TV either via its optical output digital output using either the included digital Light Pipe fiber optic cable or the analog RCA/Mini jack cables. You may also just stream wirelessly via Bluetooth from a cell phone, tablet or laptop.

All new to me, there are thousands of songs on YouTube and/or any of your favorite karaoke apps. All your favorite songs are there with lyrics in sync with these backing tracks.

A real party-starter, you can sound like a vocal star through the included monitor speaker with stereo DSP vocal effects. The two wireless microphones included easily allow you to create club/bar-like karaoke sound.

The two wireless microphones are great for duets--no more sharing mics between two singers and there is an Aux in for connecting a CD/DVD player for playing any stereo audio source such as your very own music tracks to rehearse with or any existing pre-recorded music.

I set up and connected the receiver and powered speaker just beneath the table my LG 55-inch TV--YouTube.com (among other) has karaoke videos with lyrics in sync with realistic-sounding backing tracks. Most songs have beautiful visual background effects and you can join a whole community of karaoke singers--professional and amateurs.

I liked that the receiver has a single microphone output 1/4-inch jack that can be used to connect just mic's audio to a bigger PA system or use it for recording your vocal only. The receiver, powered via a USB-C connector and/or included wall-wart power supply, has a stereo output (with included connecting cables) that can drive other powered stereo monitors--such as that PA system.

I found the most innovated part of this system is the two included wireless mics that operate on 2.4-GHz. You'll need four, AA batteries and after pairing the microphones by following the (included) instructions or following the setup video (link provided), you'll find the receiver also has several features.

There are four audio modes: regular Stereo, then either Left-Mono or Right-Mono modes for karaoke productions where an already recorded vocal track comes out of either the left or right channel only and the music (in mono) comes out of the other; you can sing along or mute that vocal. There is also the Vocal Eliminator mode that removes the lead vocals from your favorite already recorded songs.

The wireless mics have complete remote control over the receiver/mixer with buttons for Muting all audio, Mic Echo with five different levels of reverb/echo including off, Mic EQ with settings for boosting bass, mid-range, and/or high frequencies. Many singers have a somber tone making it difficult to understand their voice/lyrics and also "cut through" a dense backing track. So boosting high frequencies helps or they just like a bright sound. Then there are two buttons for increasing or lowering the music backing track as well as increasing or decreasing the mic's sensitivity. Quiet singers will enjoy this last feature.
