Yamaha SVC-110SK Silent Cello The whole Silent instrument line gets better with each new addition--I look forward to an entire Silent Orchestra of instruments! The SVC-110SK Studio Acoustic-body Cello has even an more realistic acoustic-like and powerful tone due to the resonating chamber and three onboard reverb presets. The chamber causes the Silent Cello to vibrate and further connects the musician with the instrument for a more enjoyable experience.

It goes without saying that the Silent Cello is lightweight and convenient for travel with an included protective gig bag that can be carried like a backpack.

With headphones and running on a single 9V battery, the cello can be attached to an MP3 or CD player. This feature encourages extra rehearsal by enabling musicians to play along with their favorite songs.

The cello was featured in a performance with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra. World-renowned cellist David Geringas performed an especially written piece for him and the Silent Cello by Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tüür. The Silent Cello gave Geringas tonal and dynamic possibilities not achievable on a conventional cello while preserving its characteristic sound.

For less characteristic sounds, the SVC-110SK can be used in conjunction with Yamaha's Magicstomp effects processor as well as the STAGEPAS300 portable PA system. The SVC-110SK Silent Cello sells for $2,795 MSRP. For more information, call Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division at 714-522-9011 or visit www.yamahastrings.com.
