Taylor Guitars Six New Mid-Priced Guitars The Taylor mid-priced 100 and 200 Series guitars are guaranteed to "play like a Taylor," with good tonal punch, but sell at a street price of less than $1,000. They make a good introductory choice to Taylor instruments or as a backup instrument for the seasoned pro player. New are the 114 and 114e models and the completely revised 200 Series with the introduction of the all-new 210 and 210e Dreadnoughts and the 214 and 214e Grand Auditoriums. The "e" suffix indicates the guitars feature the proprietary ES-T or Expression System Transducer--an under-the-saddle pickup. All 100 and 200 Series guitars have distinctive Indian rosewood fingerboards and bridges, plastic binding, and chrome tuners.

The 114 and 114e use the best-selling Taylor body shape with the Grand Auditorium bodies made of satin-finished Sapele laminated for the back and sides, and solid tops of Sitka spruce. Both the 114 and 114e come with a rugged, easily portable gig bag.

The new 210, 210e, 214, and 214e Dreadnought or Grand Auditorium guitars have a dignified look and feel reminiscent of a more expensive Taylor model. These instruments feature laminated, satin-finished Indian rosewood back and sides with a gloss-finished solid Sitka spruce top. And like all Taylors, their well-balanced, ringing tone and playability will appeal to players who want to sound their best when performing and recording. Each 200 Series guitar comes in a Taylor hardshell case.
