The reintroduction of the Comanche Six is now updated as the Comanche Studio VI. Only 50 of these beauties will be made and one of the outstanding features are the G&L Magnetic Field Design Z-coil pickups--you can think of them as fat sounding single-coils but without the 60Hz hum all conventional single-coil pickups produced. Immediately visible on the guitar is that each coil actually has two coils, one for the upper three strings and another for the lower three. The coils are then stagger-mounted so that the low and high frequencies are accentuated contributing to the unique tone of the Comanche Studio VI.
Like the original, the Comanche Studio VI offers individual controls for each coil in the pickup using a 3-way mini-toggle switch for each pickup. Each pickup also has its own on/off switch for any combination of the three pickups. You can shut down all three for total silence without unplugging the guitar.
Featuring a swamp ash body, gun oil tint maple neck with polished glossy finish, medium jumbo frets, Schaller locking tuners, Graph Tech self-lubricating nut, and G&L Dual Fulcrum tremolo bridge, the Comanche Studio VI is available in two color combinations: Honey burst with maple fingerboard or Tobacco with rosewood fingerboard, both with pearl pickguards.
