Martin has launched four new 1 Series acoustics all constructed using solid tone woods. Not actually brand new guitars they were initially introduced in 1993 as an affordable traditional solid wood guitar in the spirit of the Style 15 and Style 17 models Martin introduced during the Great Depression. The 1 Series is available in a Dreadnought size with two models: the D-1 and the Orchestra-size OM-1. There are also acoustic-electric cutaway versions called the DC-1E and OMC-1E. All four models being introduced feature Martin's modified hybrid scalloped top bracing.
The D-1 and DC-1E have solid Sitka spruce tops, solid bookmatched Sapele back and sides, scale length of 25.4-inches, Stratabond necks with East Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and finished in satin. DC1-E electronics include a Fishman® system with volume and tone controls, digital tuner and pop-up battery compartments. All the same woods and scale length are repeated in both OM-1 and OMC-1E Orchestra guitars. The OMC-1E also uses the same electronics package.
All 1 Series models are covered by a limited lifetime warranty and come equipped with Martin SP strings as well as a hard-shell case. For a complete list of specifications and options available, visit: www.theoneseries.com.
