2009 marks Yamaha's 40th year of selling guitars in the U.S. To help commemorate this milestone, Yamaha has introduced both the APX500FM and CPX500FM acoustic-electric guitars at a price to appeal to everyone. Don't let the prices fool you. These models include workmanship inspired by many of the standards and practices implemented at Yamaha Music Craft in Hamamatsu, Japan--the company's high-end handcrafted factory.
The APX500FM (pictured) is a thin-line, narrow-bodied acoustic-electric with a flamed maple top with Nato or Eastern mahogany back and sides, die-cast tuners, and the proprietary System55T preamp system. System55T uses a piezo pickup and three-band EQ with an extra AMF (Adjustable Midrange Frequency) control slider that gives you extra boost control in an ensemble situation. An onboard tuner is included with these electronics.
The CPX500FM is the medium jumbo-size version with the same woods, tuners and electronics. The CPX500FM sells for $609.99 and APX500FM is prices at $559.99 MSRP. For more information, visit www.yamaha.com.
