TWA'a Triskelion has a specially-tuned filter to create glassy clean tones and/or super-boosted mid-range sounds that worked like a "flame-thrower"--even coming out my small practice/studio amp.

There are three gold knobs and two lighted push buttons on this candy-apple sparkling red pedal that offer wide operating ranges and choices for precisely dialing in set ups for solos, standouts or distorted rhythm playing. The Energy control acts as a depth control--from totally clean to full--for the effect controlled by the Variant Mass control. Triskelion (for lack of a better comparison) works like a turbo-boosted wah-wah pedal and Variant Mass sets the frequency area of the synth filter standing in for the typical wah filter.

If you plug in an expression pedal, then you can wah-wah away except that you have two choices via the Boost button. With Boost pushed (and lit up) you keep the frequency area (now varied by the expression pedal) except low end is removed. I liked that, fundamentally, you're changing from a full-range filter to something much thinner--a cool sound for "small" funky guitar bits that cut but don't sound too mondo.

But if you want mondo--try pushing the Engage button for a huge amount of boost controlled by the Amplitude knob. This much level jump puts you straight into feedback with infinite sustaining moments. Crank Energy and Amplitude all the way up and push both the Boost and Engage buttons and you can "tune" a resonant feedback to your music and room. Spectacular!

I'm impressed by so much out of a pedal--the Triskelion TK-01 is made in the U.S. and sells for $349.
