JBL's new PRX400 Series of passive (not powered) portable loudspeakers come in three versions so that you don't have to spend more than necessary for equipping your DJ rig, doing a nightclub installation, or filling with sound a school auditorium or house of worship. There are: the 12-inch PRX412M, the 15-inch PRX415M and dual 15-inch PRX425 models. JBL also offers the 18-inch PRX418 subwoofer if your music/venue requires extra low frequency extension.
The PRX415M and PRX412M are useful as either FOH mains or as stage monitors. Add the PRX418 subwoofer and a pair of them are capable of delivering 135dB SPL of full-bandwidth sound. A pair of the PRX425 dual 15-inch, 2-way speakers rocks any DJ or band gig and it features a standalone cabinet.
Speaking of rocking, you might consider using one of Crown Audio's XTi2 Series amps to drive them. But know that JBL PRX400 Series loudspeakers have tour-tested drivers and components and all of them feature reliable Neutrik® SpeakON combination connectors. They are all built from lightweight, yet extremely tough 18mm birch/poplar multi-laminate hardwood covered in JBL's resilient DuraFlex covering. Rugged 16-gauge steel grilles protect the speaker's drivers.
Lastly, all PRX400 models have JBL's Sonic Guard speaker protection circuit that automatically prevents the high-frequency drivers from burn out due to overload. Check www.jblpro.com for current pricing and installed sound information and specs.
