Peavey has partnered with Antares Audio Technology to jointly announced at the 2012 WNAMM Show, the Peavey AT-200 guitar that features Antares' Solid-Tune intonation system that constantly monitors the precise pitch of each individual string and electronically makes any corrections necessary regardless of variables like finger position or pressure. This new musical instrument intonates itself continuously as you play--there is no need to stop and retune. This is unlike one of those expensive self-tuning guitars that use tweaky mechanical, servomotors to physically tighten/loosen each string under control of an onboard computer.
Expected to be available this summer, the Peavey AT-200 lets guitarists create music always in perfect intonation. The Peavey AT-200 combines advanced DSP with a quality instrument--said to look, play and sound just like a conventional guitar.
The Peavey AT-200 guitar has a target street price of around $500 and when it becomes available, I hope to get one to try out and report here! More about it at www.peavey.com
