Engineer John Mills handed off to me an experimental punk rock album
in which Tony used young players from the San Francisco Bay area. There was a lead
singer, whose name escapes me, but Peter Manu played guitar and Mario Cippolina played
bass. Mario later joined Huey Lewis and the News. Williams also sang lead vocals and
Ben Sidran produced. CBS never released it because it was thought to be
so different from Williams' past works, the company feared his audience would be alienated. I did only rough mixes and would love to locate my tape copy because I remember some very unusual songs.
